Lake Country Training Blog Page

Welcome to the Lake Country Training Blog, where we share our experience, perspective, and practical information on topics related to personal training, fitness, nutrition, weight loss, strength training, GLP-1 coaching, HRT, TRT, peptides, supplementation, sports performance, recovery, healthy aging, and overall health and wellness.
Many of the topics we cover here are relevant to the people we work with every day throughout Oconomowoc, Delafield, Hartland, Pewaukee, Okauchee, Nashotah, Merton, Summit, Dousman, Waukesha, and the surrounding Lake Country communities.
Whether your goal is to lose body fat, build muscle, get stronger, improve athletic performance, improve your nutrition, maintain muscle while using a GLP-1 medication, or simply become healthier and more physically fit, our goal is to provide useful information you can actually apply to your life.
With more than 25 years of personal training experience, we’ve seen the fitness industry change considerably. Some principles have stood the test of time, while other ideas have changed as better research, technology, medications, training methods, and nutritional information have become available.
Health & Fitness Trends and Techniques Are Constantly Evolving.
New research and better evidence continue to shape what we know about exercise, nutrition, metabolism, weight management, muscle development, recovery, longevity, hormones, supplementation, and performance. However, much of what actually works and gets results has never changed no matter what next new trend, new idea, or current fad is.
At Lake Country Training, we believe strongly in continuing to learn. That means looking at new information, comparing it with what we’ve learned through education and decades of real world coaching experience, asking questions, and being willing to adjust our approach when better evidence supports a different conclusion.
We don’t believe in blindly following the latest fitness trend just because it’s popular on social media. We also don’t believe that something should automatically be dismissed simply because it’s new.
Learn. Evaluate. Apply. Adjust.
That’s how we approach training, nutrition, coaching, and health.
Because of that, some of the opinions or information shared in older articles may evolve as new research and evidence become available. That’s exactly how it should work. Being knowledgeable doesn’t mean refusing to change your mind. It means being willing to continue learning and make better decisions when better information becomes available.
Our goal with this blog isn’t to make health and fitness more complicated. There’s already enough noise, misinformation, quick fixes, and conflicting advice out there.
Our goal is to help make it clearer and more practical.
Whether you’re already working with Lake Country Training or you’re simply looking for reliable fitness and health information from a local Lake Country training and coaching business, we hope these articles help you learn something, improve your approach, and make better decisions about your health and fitness.
Keep learning. Keep improving. And most importantly – keep doing the work.
