Keep A Food Journal – Fitness Tip & Trick #5
Seems simple enough. Trust me it is. We are all busy with our normal day to day stuff and we don’t focus enough on what we eat and drink. We often eat too much or too little, and most of us don’t drink enough water but we think we do.
Keep a food journal. Don’t have time or don’t think its easy. Well, if writing down what you eat and drink is too much for you then use an App on your phone. Still not convinced its easy. Use your phone to take pictures of your food and drinks throughout the day. At the end of the week, scroll through your pictures. If they are pictures of good, whole healthy foods and water then you did great! If you are scrolling through pictures of pizza, Big Macs, large sodas, and Taco Bell, then you need to tighten up your nutrition!
Some weeks will be great, some wont be and that’s ok, however you will never know if you don’t pay attention to it and track it. There is no worse feeling than feeling lost, this will help you set realistic goals and know what you have been doing, what changes need to be made and help you reach your goals!
I encourage everyone to give a food journal for weight loss a try for 2 weeks.
Its as easy as a click! When you are sitting on the couch at the end of the night you can simply scroll through your pictures and evaluate how successful of a week you had nutritionally. Then you can work on making the necessary changes to your weekly routines. Making a Food Journal is easier than you think!
Stop Guessing. Start Tracking.
You don’t need to track every bite of food for the rest of your life. But if you aren’t getting the results you want, you need an accurate picture of what you’re actually doing. A food journal gives you that. Track it, review it, identify the patterns, and make changes where they matter.
At Lake Country Training, we help clients turn that information into action through Nutrition Coaching, In-Home Personal Training, Private Home Studio Training, Youth Training, Sports Performance, GLP-1 Coaching, and Telehealth Prescription services. You can’t improve what you don’t measure. Pay attention. Make adjustments. Stay consistent. Get results.
