Stay Hydrated – Fitness Trick & Tip #7

This Fitness Trick and Tip is very similar to trick and tip #3. That one was Start Your Day With Water. This specific tip is to STAY HYDRATED! Meaning start your day with water and feel free to drink lots of it during the day! Many people are chronically dehydrated, and chances are good that your are one of them! Don’t wait until you are thirsty to get a drink of water. Keep a water bottle with you throughout the day. You can even put a slice of cucumber, lemon, lime, or another fruit in it to add some freshness and pizzazz to that water! Remember, coffee and tea don’t count either!

How Much Water Should You Have?

According to the Mayo Clinic and other very reputable sources, 8 glasses of 8 ounces of water are all that is recommended each day. That is 1.9 Liters. Now, many other websites recommend one ounce of water per kilogram of bodyweight or 2 pounds of bodyweight. Going by that a 200 pound person would drink about 100 ounces a day which, in my opinion is definitely not too difficult to do. If you workout intensely or your occupation is outside or physical that amount could easily go up.

If you are trying to be more healthy, lose weight, gain muscle any or more I would recommend some effort into staying better hydrated each day. The easiest way to tell is by looking at the color of your pee. The more clear, they more hydrated you are! Simple enough!

Stay Hydrated and Keep Moving

Hydration isn’t complicated, but it does require consistency. Drink water throughout the day, pay attention to what your body tells you, and adjust your intake based on your activity, environment, and individual needs. Like training and nutrition, the basics work when you actually do them.

At Lake Country Training, we help people build those basics into a lifestyle they can maintain. Whether you need In-Home Personal Training, Private Home Studio Training, Youth Training, Sports Performance, Nutrition Coaching, GLP-1 Coaching, or Telehealth Prescription services, we can help you develop a plan that fits your goals and your life.

Drink the water. Do the workout. Handle the basics. Then do it again tomorrow.
